I searched and searched for the bed I would choose. There were similar versions of this bed by different makers on all the sites, many of them cheaper than this one. But after much research and buying this bed, I am very happy and believe it was worth every penny. Its beautiful, and the fabric looks/feels expensive. I put it together alone and it took me a few hours. There are a lot of moving parts, and I get frustrated with "picture instructions" that don't include written instructions. So, I just took my time and it came together perfectly. Note that I saw other reviews where people had issue with the slats staying in place after they slept on the bed. I found that because the slats are slightly curved, (instructions don't say or show which way to face the curve, my logic said the curve goes on the top) once both sides are in the end pieces, the pegs to the outside do not meet up with the holes. If you press down on the center of the slat it moves the pegs to the holes, and I used a rubber mallet to knock them into the holes. One last thing, the headboard is not as tall as many, so if you want it to show when the bed is made, I recommend a 12" deep or smaller mattress.
